Unprecedented UK heat warnings

With temperatures of over 40°C forecast for the first time in the UK and a Red Extreme Heat warning in place, Myles Allen talks about the climate crisis on CNN's Amanpour.

Allen told the programme that heatwaves such as those currently searing through Europe will continue breaking records until countries reach zero-net emission targets. But fossil fuel companies could fix climate crisis 'within a generation' if they were required to do so. The higher prices consumers are paying for energy could cover the costs of carbon capture - we need regulations in place to make sure it does.
